In a world where collaboration often leads to transformative creations, the partnership between grantLOVE and J Vineyards & Winery stands as a beacon of innovation and purpose. At its core, this collaboration transcends the traditional boundaries of art and winemaking, merging them into a singular mission: to uplift and celebrate women-identified artists.

The brainchild of visual artist Alexandra Grant, grantLOVE was born out of a desire to support artists who are often overlooked in the vast mosaic of American culture. Since its inception in 2008, the nonprofit has been a lifeline for artists, providing essential resources and financial support to foster their creativity.

Grant’s pioneering spirit didn’t stop there; she trademarked her LOVE symbol in 2012, which has since become the emblem of a diverse range of products, all funneling proceeds back to support the arts.

In a serendipitous alignment of vision and values, Grant found the perfect partner in Nicole Hitchcock, the Estate Director and Head Winemaker at J Vineyards. Nicole, a luminary in the winemaking world, is renowned for her sparkling wines that rival the finest Champagnes.

Together, they embarked on a journey to create LOVE Wine, a venture that not only delights the palate but also serves a higher purpose.

LOVE Wine is not just a product; it’s an experience. Each bottle is a canvas, adorned with labels designed by women artists, transforming the act of sipping wine into an immersive cultural encounter.

The inaugural release features a brut cuvée, its blend carefully curated by Hitchcock and Grant, with a label designed by Genevieve Gaignard. Gaignard, whose work delves into themes of class, race, and cultural identity, brings a profound narrative to the table, making each bottle a story waiting to be shared.

This collaboration arrives at a time when the world feels particularly fragmented, offering a sense of grounding and connection. Grant reflects on the project’s evolution with a sense of wonder, noting how the alignment of values and curiosity between art and wine manifested organically.

It’s a testament to the power of patience and the rewards of waiting for the right moment—a moment that, even amidst global chaos, brings joy and unity.

The impact of LOVE Wine extends beyond the glass. With one-third of the profits directed to support women in the arts, this endeavor is as much about giving back as it is about celebrating the senses.

Available both at J Vineyards’ tasting room in Healdsburg, California, and online, each $50 bottle is a step towards sustaining the artistic voices that color our world.

In a landscape where the arts are increasingly marginalized, the Grant, Hitchcock, and Gaignard triangle is a soulful convergence that reminds us of the power of shared values and the beauty that arises when we dare to collaborate across disciplines.

It’s an invitation to gather around, to taste, to feel, and to be present in a moment that, despite everything, is filled with LOVE.
